Relaxation Spots In Nigeria To Live For!

In the grand bizarre of pulls and turns in all directions, we stumble on moments which sometimes turn to memories that keep us in awe. We draw peace and calm from atmospheres that promote fun, laughter, love and bonding. Playing host and rummaging our minds occasionally is this organized chaos in form of demands that eats us from the inside; finding time to ease off the stress is a great way to blow off steam. Here are some places in Nigeria these people have visited that have made a positive impact in their lives.

Joshua (Yankari Games Reserve and Resort, Bauchi): Yinka and I needed a break from the fresh terrains of parenthood so we decided to go on a mini adventure after we talked her mum into looking after the twins for a couple of days. It was one of the best moments ever, just what we needed at the time. The air was different, slightly dry and dusty but the chatty baboons, dancing hippos and cute elephants made it so worthwhile. Other species of wildlife caught our attention including the cave systems and warm springs. The accommodation which was fashionably earthy, in addition to the various sport facilities, was exactly what the doctor ordered.

Victoria (Obudu Cattle Ranch, Calabar): I’m a proper Lagosian, born in Ebute meta, attended Queens College for my secondary education and concluded my tertiary education at the renowned University of Lagos, Akoka. I am a solitary person by nature, so my adventurous spirit has remained in oblivion. However, I decided to get curious after my brother told tall tales about this epic place buried in the hills of Cross River State. I ventured and on arrival I exclaimed “goodbye Hawaii, hello Obudu!” because it was such a wonder to see. I got engaged with the mountain outlays, water park with slides, cable cars, golf course, night-time bonfires and horse rides. Nature came alive in a way I can’t describe, and I can’t wait to go back there for my honeymoon.

Kelvina (Ikogosi Warm Spring Resort, Ekiti): Diamonds may be a girl’s best friend, but a taste of nature in all its glory gives the best feeling ever. This was my resolution after I took a hike on the Idanre hills to explore the famous cold and warm springs of Ikogosi. This ambience coupled with the hospitality offered, opened doors to an avalanche of relaxing activities that gave an electrifying feeling and kept my senses in tune with the surroundings. It was utter bliss.

Chike (Suntan Beach and Resorts, Badagary, Lagos): When I think of having a romantic getaway with bae within Lagos, the Suntan Beach and Resorts easily comes to mind. Seated in the center of Badagry is a beauty significant for its quietude and serene environment. On our last romantic adventure, we went horse riding and enjoyed a fishing expedition.

Faruk (Le Meridien Ibom Golf Resort, Akwa Ibom State): On one of our visits to Akwa Ibom for a founders meeting, we decided to take a moment to relax our nerves afterwards. In the beginning, I wasn’t ready for any form of site seeing, but then I’m glad I went ahead with the plan. In a very lush expanse of deluxe palm vegetation, this resort not only harbors an exceptional golf course and tranquil environment but also captures mother nature’s magnificence. It’s a delicate destination where nature meets modern accommodation outfits.

All these places are giving me the adventure vibe and I think a trip is well overdue. Which of these places would you visit or where have you visited? Please share your experience.
